The 2021 EAS conference at the University in Lisbon marked the first physical event appearance for STARTING 11 in more than 18 months. Our presentation in front of dual career stakeholders from all over Europe initiated the final stage of the project.

Day 1 of the conference was addressing European sports policy topics. Yves Le Lostecque, Head of the European Commission’s Sport Unit, gave information on European strategies, directives and programmes. In the afternoon, the focus was set on various food practices in the field of dual career in sport.

On the second day, a visit to the Portuguese Football Association took place and provided insights into their national support concept for dual careers, the presentation of the Sporting Academy and a stimulating round table discussion.

Day 3 was finally dedicated to the current European Erasmus+ projects. This is where STARTING 11 took center stage. Our project partner adh, represented by Martin Santelmann, presented STARTING 11 to the international audience which participated on-site and online.

Our speech gave a preview insight into the European Dual Career Toolkit with its tools being close to finalization, based on the feedback from the European test partners in recent months. The official launch of the toolkit will take place at the STARTING 11 conference at the historic Amsterdam Olympic Stadium. Registration for this conference is free of charge and starts soon on the website.
