STARTING 11 AT SAMEEUROPE

By invitation of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), STARTING 11 presented the European Dual Career Toolkit at the SAMEurope Dissemination Event 2023.

As one of the first universities in Germany, KIT committed 20 years ago to supporting high-level athletes who also study at the institute. To mark this occasion, the first SAMEurope Dissemination Event took place on 20 April 2023. The three-year project works to facilitate the international mobility of student-athletes.

During the event, speakers gave impulses on positive youth development and current study results on student-athletes, their personal development through studying abroad, and their chances on the job market. Current high-level athletes of KIT, representatives of the KIT faculties, members of the Olympic bases, the German University Sports Federation (adh), sports officials, representatives from the economy, culture and politics, as well as from the city of Karlsruhe met for this event.

On behalf of STARTING 11, Martin Santelmann spoke about the European Dual Career Toolkit to showcase how institutional dual career service provision in Europe can benefit from EU projects.
